Founded in 1999, Halidon was established inside a group already affirmed in the world of the Home Entertainment and immediately became the largest independent Italian music distributor.
Within the company there are six well defined and structured functions which allows us to answer hastily to the rapidly changing demands of the market: A&R, Strategic Marketing, Promotion, Sales, New Technologies, Administration. Our activities include the creation, development,production, selling and promotion of CDs, Vinyls and DVDs.
Through the years Halidon has taken over the distribution of many Italian and intenational labels. We work together with publishers and music managers, counting on a vast choice of artists, catalogues and musical genres.
Our Strategic Marketing department collaborates with many of the Italian radio and TV channels for the production of compilationsbased on famous shows. Among the many projects, we want to highlight: Marco Galli “Big Smile”, Alessandro Cattelan “105 all’Una”, Wender feat. Gino lo spazzino “Alpaca”, Lo Zoo Di 105 “Panico Paura” “Love Me” of Radio Montecarlo and "Lady" di Lady Channel, "Una Serata Bella per te Gianni".
A venture of particular importance and prestige was the “Original Reprinting of Historical Vinyl Albums”. The period covered goes from the end of the 50s up to the 80s. The artists currently published in their original Vinyl and in Limited Edition are: Vasco Rossi (5 album Bollicine, Cosa succede in città, C'è chi dice no, Va bene va bene così, Vado al massimo), Mina (10 album), Ennio Morricone, Mina & Gaber, Fred Bongusto, Astor Piazzolla.Special care to details has been reserved for these projects in order to also satisfy the requests of collectors. Furthermore, in the case of Vasco Rossi and Mina, we produced a Numbered Limited Edition of Picture Discs.
Careful to the music of affirmed artists and to the scouting of new talents, Halidon supports the participation at Sanremo of music labels and artists from its own roster: Al Bano Carrisi in 2007; Amedeo Minghi, Andrea Bonomo and La Scelta in 2008; Fausto Leali, Iva Zanicchi and the Malamonroe in 2009.
Halidon supplies all the music chains and the most important hypermarkets as well as all the specialised stores, through its own sales force covering all of Italy. One of the strengths of our distribution resides in the continuous development of activities of in store marketing, in order to provide the maximum possible visibility to our products through ad hoc initiatives. For example the release of a popular series dedicated to the Sounds of Nature and projects from the dance genre such as Deejay Parade, Disco Radio, Discoparade, M2O, Los Cuarenta, Suburbia, Eurodance saw the very successful introduction of a Totem-like Listening Point of great effectiveness.
Our sales policies in the last years have encouraged the investment for the acquisition of more space in the stores, which has led to excellent results. Recently our in store activities have been supported by the artists’ presence for the release and presentation of their most recent albums: Presente by Renato Zero, If by Mario Biondi, Ancora una Notte Insieme DVD by Pooh. The in store marketing has always been inspired by a profound knowledge of our products as well as by the care with which they are produced and then monitored on the market.
Since 2006 Halidon have increased their direct music distribution in more than 20’000 Newsstands through six monthly magazines such as “Music Guardian” and “Movie Guardian”.
The distributed repertoire is also available in all Italian and international digital stores for downloading. Recently Halidon upgraded the website to provide an increasingly careful and efficient service for the consumer and consequently improved care for the distributed labels.
As a music publisher we administer our own copyright as well as those of third parties.
Last but not least we want to highlight the publication of a number of books: “I Protagonisti” a series of six books dedicated to icons of the Italian cinema and “Lo Zoo Meg”, the official monthly magazine of the famous radio show “Zoo di 105” presented by Marco Mazzoli, Fabio Alisei, Wender, Paolo Noise and Pippo Palmieri.
