The birth of disco music can be traced back to the early seventies, the period in which it is born the concept of their "disco" as it is understood today. The explosion of the success of this kind of music happens at the end of 1977 and 1978 will be remembered as the year of the decade seventy more productive for the songs of this genre. So there was no talk of dance music but "disco". The term dance, music, began to be used in the early 80s, after the disco music disappeared from American radio as a result of "Disco Demolition Night" on 12 July 1979.
In the eighties, then you begin to define the divisions between genres of dance music, from the current house and techno scene in Detroit and Chicago to European and Italian clubbing and less tied to the radio but most widely followed by the clubbers.
Innovations brought by names like Frankie Knuckles (one of the pioneers of house music), Europe begin to compose real songs with the classic verse-chorus-bridge, taken from the world of pop punk.
The success of dance music that is closely related to broadcasting, with radio programs dedicated exclusively to gender danceable, ensured a solid support and excellent promotion. The Italian broadcasters who will devote more space to the genre will be Radio Deejay, Radio 105 and Radio Network Italy. One of the most successful radio programs of Radio Deejay Time Deejay.
Italy continues to offer what in the world is called "italodance." The protagonists of the scene are those of the millennium: Eiffel 65, which will come off Gabry Ponte and follow the Bloom 06, Gigi D'Agostino, Alex MC, Prezioso feat. Marvin, Molella, Erika, Billy More.
